My name is Derrick D. Davis, better Known as "TRE-D.". I was born & raised on the southeastern side of Savannah, GA., "Home Of The Warriors". At the age of 17 I moved to Tampa, FL but my heart never left my city. For years, I was back & forth from Tampa, Orlando, and Savannah searching for a better life financially. I tried college, but it wasn't for me. I grew up in a household where everybody had to work, and that's what I did from the age of 13. While moving place to place, I was getting older and my responsibilities was rapidly growing. I always had a decent job, but to me it never was enough, so I began selling drugs. Already on probation, with 4 felony charges pending, I was blind from what could happen if I was to get caught. But by grace & mercy, and a praying mother & father, Im here today, alive and free. Thank you Jesus!!!
I gave my life to the Lord at the age of 23, but again, instead of going back & forth city to city. I was living in and out of sin. But one day God opened my eyes and showed me that nothing in this world can measure to what He has for me. He delivered me at the age of 26, and from that point I've stayed on course. My life as a living vessel for the "Kingdom Of Heaven" is not like the average person you see that's living for the Lord. The lifestyle I use to live was a preparing stage for what God created me to do, and that's to go throughout the cities reaching out to the lost in a ministry of song. I've been placed into this ministry by God and God alone. This is nothing I planned to do, neither have I been influenced by anyone in the music that I bring. Saying that, because I never listened to the type of music I present, even to this moment. So I know it's a calling, and I also know my calling is sure. I'm here to do a work, for we all know, whether if you live for God or not. This generation is in need for a word.
Word On The Street, is my first of many projects. I'm well prepared, looking to release the next one sometime in November of 2010. I have nothing to sit on, I'm letting it flow. Because, I know the more I let go, the more the Lord will bless me to give. This is a ministry, not a hussle. I'm out to win souls and increase the faith of the believer's of Christ.
